Draw

Draw is OOo's drawing, publishing, and planning tool. It is a great drawing tool, because of its simplicity. Draw can't compete with software like GIMP or Photoshop, but it doesn't try to because it knows its main purpose is for the office. However Draw can create simple drawing such as clipart, and then export the drawing in many formats.  Draw is also a good publishing tool. It allows you to pull in many different types of media from other OOo applications and more. Then with interface you can easily create a poster, diagram, etc. Finally, Draw is a planning tool. With the drawing toolbar, you can display your thoughts by using the tools such as the rectangle tool. Finally with the connector tool you can connect your ideas together all easily. The application sure is diverse in its uses.

Draw has some great functions for all three its uses.

• Exporting - Draw's exporting features are great. Unlike some drawing applications, Draw can export in vector and raster formats. Not only that but it can export to 17 different image formats. This allows you to do secondary processing with something like Inkscape or GIMP. Furthurmore, Draw can be used as a presentation canvas possibly for artwork, it does this with the pages sidebar which when exported to PDF can become a booklet.
